Paul Iarrobino is a community activist, speaker, and film and event producer with a strong interest in storytelling and preserving LGBTQ history. As the founding director for Our Bold Voices, he coaches and mentors new storytellers for staged events and documentaries.

Paul Iarrobino is a community activist, speaker, coach, and producer with a strong interest in storytelling and preserving LGBTQ history. He “retired” after working twenty-six years in the aging field where he managed a portfolio of community-based programs. His new endeavors include defining a fresh, innovative path that includes regular collaboration within an ever-expanding community. He enjoys helping others discover new possibilities in his coaching practice.
A passion to preserve the histories of the LGBTQ community led him to take the leap into starting his own business. In 2017 he ventured into the field of “producer with the groundbreaking video Breaking the Silence: an Oral History of Oregon’s LGBTQ Service Members. He created the film to raise awareness of how military culture negatively impacted and continues to impact the LGBTQ community. Our Bold Voices, Paul’s storytelling company, trains and mentors new storytellers while helping raise funding and awareness for smaller local nonprofits.

Paul Iarrobino credits his upbringing in a large Italian family in Boston for helping him speak up at the dining room table, lest he go unheard. Having lived in Portland for over 30 years, he enjoys performing, producing shows and documentaries, teaching, coaching, and giving keynotes. Paul has appeared in numerous storytelling venues including The Moth, Mortified Nation, Bag & Baggage’s Solofest, 7 Deadly Sin’s: Mainstage, and 7 Deadly Sin’s: Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire.
Paul has the uncanny ability to create memorable experiences by weaving together personal narratives with grit and humor. His storytelling company, Our Bold Voices, produces themed events with the support of community sponsors and grantors like the Regional Arts & Culture Council, Washington State Arts Council, and End HIV Oregon.
